From the twitter land my new friend Savanah Blake @Earthand_Water suggested and tagged me into a fall (Autumn in Scottish speak) game. A tag game is a great way to answer questions you wouldn’t normally share on your blog and also to connect with others.
Check out Savanah’s blog at Earth and Water here. She has a lovely blog and always posts inspiring and positive articles on self-care and self-development. It was fab of her to reach out and support me as a relatively new blogger.
So I am going to do my best on these questions which were created by Amanda Burnett, another blogger I am following on twitter for her beauty, lifestyle and a little bit of everything posts. I have tagged a couple of blogs that I have recently found. Check them out too.
Fall tag questions:
- What is your favorite fall drink?
- It is still red wine. I don’t change this on a seasonal basis. I probably drink more espresso. I wish I liked a mulled wine. I can’t stand it though.
- What’s one thing you love about fall?
- The air smells differently. Its an odd thing to notice – I get that. But for me in Autumn it starts to feel like Bonfire night. Do they even have that anywhere other than the UK (Its a Guy Fawkes thing)? If not I suggest everyone adopts it…remember remember the 5th of November.
- What’s one thing you don’t like about fall?
- The potential of sleeping in due to dark mornings. Even when our clocks go back (yes another odd UK thing) it doesn’t help me get up for work.
- Are you a pumpkin spice fan?
- I have no clue what this is. Am I missing out?
- What’s your favorite fall scented candle?
- I can’t do strong spicy scents in the house so I stick with the summary candles. I do always light more candles at this time of year though.
- Where do you buy your fall candles?
- TK Maxx or Lidl. Both places are great value for, well, for most things. Even the things you don’t want and of course buy are good value; kind of.
- What’s your go-to fall beauty product?
- I am hanging on to my Versace red lipstick that I have had for years. It is a gorgeous deep red that I have never found elsewhere. I don’t use it much. This question has reminded me that I need to search for a replacement. They probably don’t do it anymore which may be my dissapointing thing about Fall this year.
- Your favorite fall accessory?
- Hats. Any hat in my collection will do.
- What’s your typical fall outfit look like?
- For work. Same as most seasons: a dress more often with boots rather than my normal high heels. Outside of work I am mainly in a great jumper and jeans with a beautiful Stuart and Christie (oldest tailor in Edinburgh) tweed jacket. Sounds posh eh? Third favourite is jogging bottoms and trainers (not so posh).
- Apple pie or pumpkin pie?
- Neither. If forced – apple.
- What’s your favorite Halloween/scary movie?
- I might get a new favourite after a few recommendations from Rob over at forfreindswithoutborders.wordpress.com. I don’t think I have ever really had a favourite scary movie.
- Do you have a fall tradition?
- We decorate the Christmas tree we all planted with halloween decorations. That, a fire pit, wine and nibbles is a definite tradition with the neighbours.
- What’s your favorite fall food?
- Being picky means I don’t really change my food choices. I didn’t know there were fall foods.
- What are your plans for Halloween?
- Hopefully the annual party with my neighbours. It may not work this year though due to a break up, a moving out and a few other oddities going on with them all. I would probably blog about it if I wasn’t scared of them reading my views on the whole thing.
- Do you plan on dressing up for Halloween?
- I haven’t got an outfit. Yet! I might have to get out the favourite vampire one. My favourite did change for one year to the PVC skeleton one but I would need to accessorise with a tutu this year to hide my slightly increased, and now reducing, backside.
- What’s one thing your thankful for?
- That I laugh every day in work despite it being a serious job.
- Halloween or Thanksgiving?
- Halloween! Of course; we don’t do thanksgiving here.
- Favorite Thanksgiving food?
- Any halloween type sweet. Turkey is for Christmas. At least I hope it is as my parents may go rogue and try to feed me duck (or something equally disturbing to my pallet).
- Have you ever participated in Friendsgiving?
- No. Should I know about this?!
- Have you already taken fall photos?
- Not yet. Edinburgh is beautiful at this time of year. I will add that to my goals for the month. To be fair I don’t have a goals list. I will do it anyway 🙂

What a lovely autumnal tag – I love it! I’m feeling very autumny this year, so this is ideal for me. Much as I love autumn, I do agree with you on the dark mornings being a downside – already I have cycled to work this year in the dark, pouring rain (fun). But I’ll take it for all the other good stuff! Thank you very much for the tag – I don’t know if I’ll do this soon, but I will try to do it at some point 🙂

Thanks for the comment and for appreciating the tag 😊! Well done on the cycling. I can barely pull myself out and into my car for the work commute (the rain here has been horrendous too). But yes, Autumn is a great time of year.
